Having a lot of career skills is usually something that employers appreciate in the people that they hire. However, there are instances where you will end up being overqualified for positions and unable to find one that suits your abilities. There is nothing more common in today's society than people with too many qualifications seeking jobs that don't require much previous skill or experience at all. As such, many employers are making exceptions and hiring those who are too qualified simply because they understand that it might be the only job that they find. However, it's still hard to find positions in other industries when you have a laundry list of education, training, and experience in a specific career.
Even entry level industries like fast food and retail have their own previous experience and training requirements and preferences, and the 17 year old who worked at Burger Town is much more likely to get a job at the fast food restaurant where you're applying than you are, even when you've got a college degree and great people skills. The problem with being overqualified is that managers typically stay away from you because they are afraid that you will try to act superior or like the job is below you. They want people who are happy to do their jobs and those who don't act like they're better than everyone.
If you can prove that you're a team player and that you're humble enough to take whatever job that you can get, you'll likely have much more success with your job search when it comes to jobs that have fewer expectations than you have experience. Take the time to figure out how to approach these jobs, because it's a tricky path to go down. You need work, but taking work that you could likely do in your sleep might prove to be a little stressful. However, you need to make sure that you take it seriously because it might be the only job offer that you get.
Right now is not the best time to expect a job to hire you because it's perfect for your skills. It's more of a time where anyone who needs a job should take whatever they can get, whether they have previous experience or not. If a company or manager is willing to work with you and train you in a new job role, you should be willing to be trained so that you can keep your financial security. Do you really want to sacrifice your financial security just because you don't get the perfect job? For many people today, the perfect job is as simple as having a job at all.
